Executive Principal’s Blog – 10 October 2014

Many of you may be aware from recent reports in the media that members of the Unison union are being called upon to take strike action on Tuesday 14th October in pursuit of their dispute with the Government related to matters of pay. Whilst I am not entitled to know in advance whether or not individual colleagues intend to take strike action next Tuesday, this week I conducted a risk assessment in order to ascertain whether it is safe to keep the school open. For your information, we are planning at this stage for the school to be open for all students as normal. Should that situation change, we will inform you as soon as possible.

In the meantime it has been another very busy week at the school with superb lessons continuing to take place and also two important parents’ evenings being held. It was lovely to meet so many Year 7 parents at the ‘Settling In’ Evening on Tuesday and also the large number of Sixth Form parents at the Year 12 Information Evening on Thursday. Thank you once again to all the parents who attended these important evenings and for your ongoing support for the school.
