Executive Principal’s Blog – 16 December 2016

The highlight of this week has to be the superb Christmas Concert which took place on Tuesday evening in our Main Hall.

A packed audience was enthralled by the massed choirs (including the Year 7 Choir and Orchestra pictured here), the wind ensemble, excellent bands, talented vocal and instrumental soloists, amazing duets and delightful harmonies. It was a truly phenomenal event and one that made us all extremely proud.

Under the superb leadership of Miss Brown, our very experienced Head of Music and Music Coordinator across the Bushey St James Trust, the music department has seen an amazing transformation over the last two years. Now literally hundreds of students are involved in practical music making, results at GCSE and Post 16 have risen tremendously and the concerts are real spectacles, now enjoyed by so many.

Our other very talented music teacher Miss Craven has also really added an additional superb dimension to the department and we are really grateful to her for all her hard work and major contribution to the success of this term – culminating in this week’s spectacular event.

As we all come to the end of the autumn term and, with our last day next Wednesday, I would like to wish all students, parents, carers, Governors and Trustees a very happy Christmas and best wishes for the New Year and, as always, thank you for your continued support for the school.
