Executive Principal’s Blog – 2 September 2016

As we start our new academic year at Bushey Meads it is a hugely exciting time; our post 16 results are the best ever for 6 years (with over a quarter of all sixth form students achieving the very top A* and A grades) and our GCSE results are also excellent, clearly demonstrating that we are adding real value to students’ education and learning at the school.

Today I would particularly like to welcome our new Year 7 students who have now completed their first day and properly started their BMS journey, as well as all the new learners joining our fabulous Sixth Form. It has also been great to see all our Year 11 students attending their all-important ‘Kick Start’ meetings as they prepare for the most important year in their academic career to date; focussing on setting really smart targets to maximise achievement in their next round of Pre-Public Examinations (PPE’s) at the end of November and their GCSEs in the summer term.

Over this summer there have been a number of major developments made to our learning environment and I would particularly like to thank our Site Manager, Richard Chambers and our hard working Site Staff and IT Team who have worked so hard and are continuing to literally transform Bushey Meads School. Over the coming weeks we will update you with further details of all the exciting developments around the school site and provide more information about the school’s performance in our weekly newsletter which is published every Friday.

In the meantime do encourage and support your children to make a very positive start to the new academic year and ensure that all of them achieve their true potential. In line with our school motto Aspire to Achieve, I know that we can all work together to make this a reality for everyone.

I would like to wish all students and staff every success for 2016 – 17.

Our first newsletter of the year will be published next Friday. In the meantime you might like to click on the links below and read our Sixth Form and GCSE Press Releases.
