Executive Principal’s Blog – 1st May 2018: Talented GCSE Drama Performers

I would like to commend all the immensely talented Year 11 Drama GSCE students for the creative flair and dedication demonstrated in their final performances which took place last Thursday evening. Each and every performance was well crafted and performed at the highest level – thoroughly appreciated by the supportive audience gathered in our brand new theatre space.

With the dividing doors fully opened in the purpose built blackout arena, with its great ‘industrial’ feel, the new theatre space definitely enhanced the evening and provided a professional performance venue for the hard working students.

The students can now focus on the written exam element of their course and we wish them well with their ongoing revision over the next few weeks.

The external examiner paid tribute at the end of the evening to the students’ superb talents and great professionalism in their performances – it was lovely to hear!

Don’t forget that our powerful Study Saturdays for all Year 11 and 13 students have now started and are running every Saturday until the GCSE and A level examinations start in earnest. They take place in the ‘new look’ Learning Resource Centre between 10.00 am and 2.00 pm and LRC Manager, Mr Back will be on hand with loads of past papers and access to all the IT facilities as usual. No school uniform is needed, but do remember bring a packed lunch to keep you going!
