Punctuality is important. Being on time means you don’t miss out on learning and it shows that you have self-discipline, commitment and a sense of responsibility. If you arrive at school in the morning after 8.40am, you must go straight to your first lesson, where you will be marked in as arriving late and the number of minutes will be recorded. You will need to bring in a note the next day from your parent/carer explaining the reason for your late arrival. If you are late because of the late arrival of a school bus, then explain this to the class teacher. Being persistently late to school, without good reason, could result in a keystage detention or community service.
