Competition : League v Queens

Year 9 – Lost 19-5

T.Bingham-Thaker, E.Leeves, M.Sharif, A.Sungpongco, I.Vincent, E.Bonyardi, T.Barnard-White, J.Pickles, E.Hale

Comment: This was a much closer game than the score suggests and had illness not depleted the Bushey Meads attack the score would have been more respectable.  BMS fought hard and even when the game slipped away the girls continued to work hard, intercepting and passing well down the court.

Player of Match: Imogen Vincent, a great game at centre, well done.

Competition: League v St.Clement Danes

Year 10 –  Won 13-6

Squad: E. Jarman, D. Olcot, A. Leech, D. Noel, A. Francis, G. Hill, C. Stewart, S. Wright

Comment: The undefeated year 10 team were anything but complacent in their toughest match of the year so far. The attack worked hard against a strong defence and their hard work paid off. Brilliant interceptions and passing from centre court and defensive players. A committed team that deserves success. Well done girls!

Competition: County League v Beaumont

Year 10 – LOST

Squad: S.Wright, C.Stewart, A.Leech, D.Olcot, M.M.Baker, D.Noel, G.Hill, E.Jarman, I.Stovey, A.Sungpongco

Unfortunately another defeat in the county league adventure for Bushey Meads, however there were significant improvements from the last match with more goals scored and less conceded.  This bodes well for next weeks game where we look forward to another positive display.  Keep up the hard work girls, you are definitely making progress!

Competition: Friendly v St.Margarets, WGGS

Years 7,8,9,10

Squad: M. Wray, E. Wray, L. White, I. Malin, L. Wright, G. Seargent, K. Mullings, J. Smith, A. De-Alwis

Comment: A positive experience for the girls. Considering the opposition have had far more swimming experience than our girls they raced well and never gave up. Year 7 and 10 both had first place success in a number of races. We look forward to the next gala.

Competition: County Round Lord Taveners

Years: Mixed Disability team

Squad:C.Baker, L.Chappell, G.Bonner, B.Lawson, L.Keogh

A new squad took part in this years school boccia event, playing well in the first match set them up for the rest of the group games where they secured a semi final place.  The semi was tough and close with Bushey Meads taking an early lead before Welwyn and Hertford levelled the game.  Going into the last end the scores were level at 4-4, again BMS took a lead in the end but a fantastic shot from the WH captain secured victory for her team and a place in the final.  BMS eventually finished a very creditable 4th in the county, we look forward to more success in the national league after Christmas.

Player of the tournament:  Lola Chappell
