Executive Principal’s Blog – 13 January 2017
This morning it was a real privilege to welcome to the school Richard Abrahams, our inspirational Vice Chair of Governors and Vice Chair of the Bushey St James Trust.
He cut a number of red ribbons around the school site and officially opened our new state of the art F Block classroom and our superb Science Block extension. Also recognising the new staff car park at the rear of the school, the prestigious occasion marked a major milestone – being the completion of Phase 1 of our £4.5 million school expansion programme.
He also officially opened the new F Block student toilets – a major refurbishment project undertaken in response to the student voice feedback provided at the end of the last academic year.
On Thursday afternoon this week our hardworking Year 11 students gathered in the Main Hall for their Pre Public Examination Results afternoon. Without exception, all the students took the proceedings very seriously and were having powerful conversations with each other and the staff who were there, acutely aware that there are now just 65 school days to really make a difference to their final GCSE grades – grades that will secure their all-important futures in the superb Bushey Meads School Sixth Form.
Our Year 13 students participated in their PPE results afternoon today and we also wish them every success as they continue to work hard over the coming months in the lead up to their A level examinations.
With best wishes for a good weekend and don’t forget to click on the link to read about the rest of this week’s BMS News……..
