This week has been a week packed full of major events that mark some of those truly key milestones in the lives of our students. On Wednesday evening it was our prestigious Annual Rewards Evening when over 120 students received some stunning awards for their effort, achievement and major contributions to the school community. It was a proud moment in time for many students and their parents and carers, as well as the hard working staff who have guided, encouraged and supported them to achieve such great success.

I would particularly like to thank our inspirational Vice Chair of our Trust and Governing Body Richard Abrahams, who gave a superb speech at the end of the excellent evening. It was a memorable event and one which will remain in our memories for a long time to come.

Year 10 students were watching with a real sense of ‘that will be us’ in a year’s time! In the evening they enjoyed a Prom to be proud of at the Elstree Studios; they all looked stunning in the smart suits and beautiful dresses!

On Thursday we were privileged to host the annual  Children’s University Graduation Ceremony for pupils from Little Reddings Primary School who had collectively amassed over 4500 hours of extracurricular activities, from a whole host of exciting after-school clubs on offer at the superb primary school we are so lucky to partner with in our Multi Academy Trust. There is no doubt that the experiences the Headteacher Miss Simmonds and all the hardworking staff are giving them, will stand them in such good stead for their secondary school years and beyond; many of them I’m sure will graduate one day from some of the top universities in the world!

Friday was the turn of Year 13 – the true leaders of our school, poised to move on to so many aspirational higher education destinations, top apprenticeships and exciting work place opportunities. We do wish them well as they leave BMS and move on into the exciting world ahead of them all pictured here in their farewell gathering in the Sixth Form Study Centre.

It is such a proud moment to see the young adults in our care participate in these milestone events and is a true reminder of what can be achieved during these years at our fantastic school; with a Growth Mindset that we talk about and encourage so much here at BMS, the sky really is the limit!

With best wishes for a lovely weekend and don’t forget as usual to click on the link to read about the rest of this week’s BMS News……..
