Executive Principal’s Blog – 1.4.22 ‘Setting the Tone at BMS’

Almost without exception, one of the key aspects of our wonderful school that the vast majority of our visitors and members of the learning community recognise, is the friendly warm welcome and strong family atmosphere that exists at BMS. This atmosphere is set each and every day by our amazing school reception staff Mrs Nealon and Mrs Smith. On a daily basis they, not only greet all of us with a friendly hello and lovely smile, but they field literally hundreds of calls and enquiries with a calm positive and professional manner – something unfortunately not always afforded to them. It was delightful to then receive such a lovely email last week recognising their superb work.

Dear Bushey Meads
Thank you for the welcome that you gave me yesterday when I came to drop off my son’s glasses that he had left at home. The two ladies on reception were very welcoming, kind and engaging. A ‘Mind to be Kind’ and a huge credit to the school. Many thanks.

Our students are also superb ambassadors within and beyond our school gates and demonstrate all the positive aspects that our embedded Character Development Programme and ‘Keys to Success’ encourage. Just last week I received this message from David King, the Immediate Past President of the Rotary Club in Colchester:

Today I have spent the most fabulous day with some pupils and staff from your school. We facilitated the Inspire Sports Day in Colchester as Colchester Rotary Club but it would have been nothing without the participants. I had the pleasure of meeting Mr Hammond and some of his colleagues and some wonderful students. I hope that we might have the pleasure of meeting some of your group again; they were delightful – really nicely behaved and, having arrived slightly hesitant, they left tired but exhilarated. With very best wishes.

Our staff and students make us proud. It has been a very busy and successful term and I would like to thank everyone for their positive support and encouragement for what we all do. With best wishes for a very happy Easter holiday and, as usual, don’t forget to click on the link to read this week’s BMS News.
