Executive Principal’s Blog – 11.6.21: The Highest Calling….
One of the real strengths of Bushey Meads School is our cohesive continuing professional development programme and the many exciting opportunities we are able to offer to all staff at every level. Within our culture of ‘everyone a leader’ it is always great to see how so many of our staff develop over time, securing key leadership positions within and beyond our organisation.
John Maxwell, an esteemed leadership guru, once said that the highest calling of a leader is to develop other leaders around you and many key leaders at Bushey Meads embrace this important philosophy; it also pervades through our impressive student body through the many leadership positions offered and their excellent work across the school.
This year as many of you know, after being approached by Hertfordshire County Council who needed leadership support at a local school, our superb Deputy Headteacher Mrs Ash was appointed to be the Interim Headteacher at Falconers School. Since October Mrs Ash has been based at Falconers School but has continued to meet regularly with myself as the Executive Principal and indeed the other Headteachers within the Bushey St James Trust, retaining very strong links with the staff and students at Bushey Meads.
Just before the recent half term holiday, after a very rigorous interview process, she was successful in securing the substantive Headteacher position at the school. I am sure you would like to join with me in congratulating her for her superb achievement. We look forward to maintaining very positive links with her and all the staff at Falconer School.
