Executive Principal’s Blog – 12.3.21: “An Outstanding Re-Start Back to BMS”
I would like to thank all staff, students and parents and carers for supporting the return to school for all students this week. Each day we welcomed back an additional year group, lateral flow testing the vast majority of students whose parents had given consent to ensure that all students back in school were Covid-19 free.
A huge thank you goes to all members of the Pastoral Team, the Learning Support Staff and of course our dedicated LFT Team for their expertise in managing this huge operation. On three days this week they were not only testing new arrivals, but also re-testing students on their second of three tests due this half term.
The students took the testing very seriously and I would like to commended them for their excellent behaviour and conduct; the staff commented that you were all exemplary. This sentiment has been replicated across the school as our students have re-engaged with face to face lessons, preparing to catch up on any missing work and secure those important grades that open doors in the future.
As we hopefully come to the end of one of the most challenging chapters imaginable, the words of the child psychologist and author Maria Robinson echo true for many of us, as we work hard to re-start our education journeys and write the ‘endings’ we want and hope for.
As usual please do click on the link to read our latest BMS News and see all the positive things that have taken place this week.
With very best wishes,
Jeremy Turner
