Executive Principal’s Blog – 16.9.22: ’Leadership Inspiration at BMS’

At the end of another very positive week in school, the highlight for me has to be the inspiring Student Leadership Assembly held on Tuesday afternoon in the Main Hall. Hosted by our hardworking Student Leadership Coordinator Mr Burley, the assembly was actually led by our very impressive Senior Student Leaders who all spoke so eloquently and passionately about the power of leadership.

Each of the students profiled a key leader who had inspired them and explained to the 180+ student leaders attending the assembly what made them inspirational. Our Head Boy Isaac chose to speak about Sir David Attenborough and our Head Girl Andrea highlighted the ethos and culture of leadership modelled by the New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern.

I would like to congratulate our newly appointed Deputy Head Students Benji Winslett and Zainah Kashif and Deputy Head Prefects Ibiso Harry-Brown and Derry Williams-Bown who joined our Year 13 Senior Leaders in presenting all the other student leadership badges to the younger students gathered in the Main Hall. Our student leaders across all aspects of school life continue to play a key role in making our school such a great learning community and I would like to thank them all for their major contributions.

As we end the week and continue this period of national mourning with Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s state funeral taking place next Monday (which as you are aware has also been declared a bank holiday) I would like to wish you all a safe weekend.
