Executive Principal’s Blog – 17.10.25: ’Raising Achievement for All’
On Tuesday of this week it was good to represent the Bushey St James Trust and Bushey Meads School at the latest East of England DfE RISE Conference held in Peterborough and be able to discuss with other senior School and Trust Leaders the challenges and opportunities in the current educational landscape. The key theme of the conference was ensuring that all students achieve their potential irrespective of their background and/or social class and it was great to hear about the different approaches a number of schools across the region are taking.
The Regional Director Jonathan Duff alluded to a number of strategies that chimed powerfully with what we are embedding at BMS – encouraging good attendance, positive engagement with parents, having a high emphasis on reading and the development of literacy skills and offering a range of exciting curricular opportunities, both in and beyond the classroom. We continue to work hard in all of these key areas and would encourage you as parents and carers to continue to support our work.
On that note it was great to see so many of our hardworking Year 11 students and their families attend our annual important Revision Techniques Evening on Thursday of this week. We do wish all our Year 11 and 13 students every success in their upcoming Pre-Public Examinations or PPEs taking place after the half term holiday
With very best wishes for a lovely weekend and don’t forget to click on the link to read this week’s BMS News.
