Executive Principal’s Blog – 17.11.23 – ‘Leading Together!’
This week has once again been a busy week in the life of our fantastic school. It was superb to welcome so many students with their parents and carers to our annual More Able Evening on Tuesday of this week. Held over two sittings, the Main Hall was filled with positivity and everyone I spoke to was truly inspired with what was showcased under the theme of leading together – Igniting Synergy and Inspiring Success.
More Able Coordinator, Mrs Razavi, and Associate Leader Mr Obamakin set the tone right from the start of the evening and introduced an amazing A level dance performance. Throughout the evening we were reminded of the vast array of learning opportunities offered within and beyond the classrooms at Bushey Meads which all students can engage with and benefit from as they seek to truly realise their potential.
All More Able students received a superb booklet, packed full of ideas to work through this year to ensure real success. This booklet is also available for all students on the school website. As a school we are seeing more and more students realise and even exceed their predicted potential and our high profile More Able agenda has a key part to play in supporting this achievement over time.
We also had the privilege of welcoming our hard working and dedicated Governors to our annual Governors’ Day which took place on Wednesday of this week. It was a real success with many of the Governors enjoying their day at the school and really noting the significant improvements with so many areas and aspects of our vibrant learning community. They also had some great opportunities to connect in with our students and staff across all the different faculties in the school. Next week’s newsletter will provide further details and photos of the day.
As always, click on the link to read this week’s BMS News highlighting many other activities that have taken place which have included a highly successful Anti Bullying Week led by our dedicated Intervention Manager Mrs Mateides and our superb Anti Bullying Ambassadors. Fitting perfectly with the Theme of the Week being Kindness, it certainly helped to raise the profile of their brilliant and valued work and this hugely important agenda at the heart of our school.
