Executive Principal’s Blog – 17.6.22: ‘Preparing for those Important Next Steps’
Students at Bushey Meads School continue to Aspire to Achieve and are excelling at every level. This is a trajectory that we want them to be on for the rest of their lives – becoming lifelong learners, full of passion and enthusiasm and with the skills, tools and necessary resilience to see them succeed throughout their journey.
On that note, it was really pleasing to welcome so many of our hard-working Year 12 students and their parents and carers to our important Next Steps Evening hosted on Wednesday Evening by Associate Leader and Head of Sixth Form Mr O’Kelly, our superb Sixth Form Pastoral Team and Head of Work-Related Learning Mrs McIldowie. The Main Hall was packed and everyone who attended enjoyed the lovely refreshments, the chance to discuss and think about where they are at on the journey and have the chance to learn about lots of important information from both our internal and external presenters.
During the evening students also heard about all the excellent support and advice the school gives to them as they prepare to look at life beyond Bushey Meads and start those journeys into higher level work place apprenticeships, exciting job opportunities and secure places at some of the world’s most prestigious universities.
