Executive Principal’s Blog – 19.12.25 ‘Fond Farewells and an exciting New Year Ahead’
We often have to bid a fond farewell to staff who are moving on to pastures new as we reach the end of term. We will all be saying a particularly fond farewell at the end of this term to someone who has made a significant contribution to the life of the school, the Multi Academy Trust and indeed the local educational landscape in this local area and across the county. Some of you may have been aware that for a number of years Mrs Ash has been talking about relocating to Yorkshire and we are delighted for her that she has secured a prominent leadership role within a larger multi academy Trust in the north of England, where key leaders across the 14 schools in the MAT will undoubtedly benefit from her considerable expertise and experience.

Mrs Ash was first appointed to the school in September 2014 as an Assistant Headteacher. Her leadership journey saw her take the Sixth Form here to ‘outstanding’, becoming a Senior Assistant Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher and Head of Standards, Safeguarding and SEND with a role across our MAT, after also taking on a temporary Headship position at Falconer School. As parents and carers, I am sure that all of you would agree that she has worked tirelessly to support the school improvement journey over the last 11 years and many of us have benefitted from her wisdom and expertise. She has also had a significant and very positive impact on the lives of many children and their families.

As a school we will miss her being on the leadership team but have already made plans to support the existing senior leaders in reorganising responsibilities and have appointed new and existing staff to exciting leadership opportunities across the school to continue the onward journey of continued school improvement. It has been a busy end to a very successful term so, as always, do also read this week’s BMS News highlighting some of the other things that have been happening.

With best wishes for a great weekend and a very happy Christmas holiday and successful new year.
