Executive Principal’s Blog – 21.11.25 – ‘Higher Horizons’
This week has once again been a busy week in the life of our fantastic school. It was superb to welcome so many students with their parents and carers to our annual More Able Evening on Tuesday of this week. The Main Hall was filled with positivity and everyone was truly inspired with what was showcased under the theme of Higher Horizons – Innovate, Include & Inspire.

Introduced by Deputy Headteacher Mr Beswick and led by our More Able Coordinator and Associate Leader Mr Johnson, the tone was set right from the start of the evening with an amazing A level dance performance available to see via this link: Dance Performance.

Assistant Headteacher Ms Silla also spoke about the incredible opportunities on offer in our Sixth Form. Throughout the evening the confident student speakers reminded us about the vast array of learning opportunities available within and beyond the classrooms at Bushey Meads which all students can engage with and benefit from as they seek to truly realise their potential.

All More Able students received a booklet, packed full of ideas to work through to ensure real success. The idea is that one project is completed each term to gain the chance to go on an inspiring reward trip later in the year. This booklet is also available for all students on the school website, as are the many online platforms provided that Mr Johnson also referenced.
As a school we are seeing more and more students realise and even exceed their predicted potential and our high profile More Able agenda has a key part to play in supporting this achievement over time. Do click on this link to hear the concluding vocal performance from this year’s School Musical being performed next term: Vocal Performance.

As always do click on the link to read this week’s BMS News highlighting many other activities that have taken place.
