Executive Principal’s Blog – 22.1.21: “BMS – Being A Guiding Light”

Traditionally at this time of year all the Newly Qualified Teachers from across Hertfordshire gather in our Main Hall for one of their important training events and this session, offered by top teachers at Bushey Meads School, is often hailed as the highlight of their year.

With the current circumstances we find ourselves in there was no physical gathering, but the excellent training was still delivered online.

Pictured here in the Sixth Form Study Centre on Thursday after school, Acting Deputy Headteacher Mr Searle (who oversees the cohesive Professional Development Programme at BMS), Acting Lead Practitioner Mrs Hoskins and Advanced Lead Teacher Mr Symeou are seen delivering the interactive session focussed on Marginal Gains.

So many superb ideas were provided to the teachers from across the county to enable them to work smartly, manage their workload and make those small incremental steps at this crucial stage in their careers.

Despite the ongoing challenges of the pandemic, the school continues to be a beacon of light with a big heart, willing to share best practice across the local area. This is something to be proud of and a big thank you goes to those who made this event happen.
