Executive Principal’s Blog – 23.1.26: ‘Together We Can Do So Much More’
I would like to thank all the Heads of House, our Character Development Coaches and of course all the students for so positively embracing our fortnight of Vertical Character Development sessions which have seen students across each of the seven different houses in the school strengthening their relationships across all year groups.
We have seen conversations taking place between Sixth Formers and Year 7 students and Key Stage 3, 4 and 5 students working together to develop some superb ideas to raise money for charity. These ideas were all shared with their CDCs and then the best ones put forward to the Head of House who has had the difficult task of choosing the House Charity for the Year.
At the same time, all the inspiring assemblies led by the Heads of House have reflected on the important theme of Working Together and have motivated us all to consider getting involved in the upcoming Foodbank drive to support our local Red Trust Foodbank. As parents and carers do talk about this with your children and encourage them to bring in at least one item of food for this House led activity – each item is worth an R2!
There have been some inspirational quotes shared in the assemblies; one of my favourites was by Helen Keller about togetherness which emphasises collective achievement: ‘Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much’. Highlighting the power of collaboration, communication, and unity, it reminds us how much more we can accomplish by combining our strengths and efforts for a common goal.
On that note, one of the annual events of the year that so powerfully demonstrates this is our school musical, which each year goes from strength to strength. Don’t miss out on purchasing your tickets via the link below:
