Executive Principal’s Blog – 25.10.24: ‘Ending on a High’
At the end of a really positive first half term at Bushey Meads School, it was superb to welcome so many of our Year 7 parents and carers to the school yesterday for our very popular Year 7 Curriculum Celebration Evening. Even though the student presenters and performers have only been in the school for eight weeks, they demonstrated great confidence to take part with such skill on the main stage, showcasing the brilliant work that they have completed across all curriculum areas.
Some excellent displays of work were provided by each faculty in the School Restaurant area and parents and students took the opportunity to enjoy the refreshments and admire the quality and creativity on show. The event also saw an 80-student strong Year 7 Singing Group performing at the end of the evening – it made for a great joy-packed event.
I would like to thank all our hard-working and inspirational staff, our fantastic students and supportive parents, Governors and Trustees who have all contributed to making the start of this academic year so positive.
If you would like to listen again to the two lovely songs sung by our Year 7 Cohort at the end of the Year 7 Curriculum Celebration Evening, do click on the two links below. Having only been in the school for eight weeks and, having only had a relatively short time to practise during their normal lessons once a week, it was a real testimony to their enthusiasm and commitment to see and hear them singing so well, accompanied by the talented Year 7 instrumentalists in our midst.
