Executive Principal’s Blog – 26.9.25: ’Kicking into Key Stage 4’ It was great to welcome many of Year 10 students and their parents and carers to our ‘Kick into Key Stage 4’ Evening yesterday hosted by Assistant Pastoral Manager Miss Kent and Deputy Headteacher Ms de Groot. As our students embark on such a crucial stage of their journey through Bushey Meads and start their GCSE studies, it was great to be able to give them such good advice and outline all the important tips to enable them to achieve success in what is less than two years’ time – time that will pass all too quickly! Attendance is absolutely key and all students should be aiming for a minimum of 95% attendance. Ms de Groot showed our own powerful data that indicated that the top 30 students in last year’s Year 11 cohort who added most value to their education all had an attendance of 97% as well as a very high attitude to learning. The evening also highlighted the importance of the PPE or Pre-Public Exams at the end of the year and the need to start doing that bit extra right from now; independent learning is vital to consolidating the learning that takes place in school.
As we continue to support all students in their transition to different year groups and /or key stages at the start of this new academic year, I would like to thank all staff and parents and carers for their hard work and continued support.
With very best wishes for a lovely weekend. Do click on the link as usual to read this week’s BMS News.
