Executive Principal’s Blog – 3.10.25: ’A Poignant Moment’
This time last year we were struggling to comprehend the very sad news that our school community heard and our deepest condolences and thoughts and prayers since then have very much been with the family of Zach Barnes, one of our dear Year 8 students whose young life was tragically taken too soon. This week it was a privilege to join 9 Oak’s Character Development Group on Wednesday of this week and take part with students and staff in a very respectful and poignant 1-minute silence which will be replicated in the Oak House Assembly on Monday in memory of Zach. Some beautiful flowers were also placed in our Outdoor Education area in a short ceremony. Our Intervention Manager Mrs Mateides and Counsellor Miss Hogg have been available for anyone who has needed some time and support. Zach’s memory continues to live on in our hearts.
