Executive Principal’s Blog – 3.5.24: ‘The Powerful Keys of Praise and Encouragement’
Last week top professional dancers from Platinum Academy led a dance workshop at our school and contacted us to provide some really powerful praise, highlighting how incredibly polite, respectful and hard working the students were.
Erina Lewis, the Vice Principal of the Academy stated “It is not often that we go into a school and experience the professionalism and manners from the students like we did today, so I would like to give a massive thank you to the staff and students at Bushey Meads School.”
She went on to say that “Miss Joannou then took us for a quick tour around the school and I noticed that this was consistent in every class that we went by and with every interaction that we had.”
At this time of year praise and encouragement are so key. With the imminent challenges of GCSE and A level examinations looming, it is encouragement and support from people around us that keeps us going. On that note, I would like to thank all our parents and carers for playing their part in the onward journey of our BMS students’ lives.
This weekend our Study Saturdays start in the LRC from 10.00 am – 2.00 pm for Year 11 and 13 students. Students can come in and revise together for as long as you want to within that time. The Study Saturdays really helped last year’s cohort and were one of the most appreciated strategies we employed to support students in the run up to their exams. They will run for the next six weeks.
At this time of year, we also like to hear from all our parents and carers and ask them to complete the online questionnaire on ParentView. If you get a minute this weekend please do click on the link below to enter your views:
