At Bushey Meads School we invest heavily in carefully researching and providing really powerful online learning platforms for all our students to use both in school and for home learning. Parents and carers play such an important part and know that even an additional 15 minutes a day (on top of any home learning set by the school) can make a massive difference to the progress their children make and ultimately the GCSE and A Level grades they secure in Year 11 and 13.

The online platform Sparx is proving to be extremely successful and is used for English Maths and Science. The statistics speak for themselves:
 
On Sparx Reader
  • Over 1 million words have been read by BMS students
  • Over 14 000 hours have been spent reading
  • Over 6500 books have been read
  • Over 1.4 million answers have been given and checked
On Sparx Maths
  • Over 25 000 questions have been correctly answered by BMS students
  • Over 425 hours of personalised practice have taken place
  • Nearly 3000 misconceptions and knowledge gaps have been addressed
  • Nearly 40% of all students using the Timetables are considered competent or have improved
On Sparx Science
  • Over ½ million questions have been correctly answered by BMS students
  • Nearly 6000 hours have been spent learning on the platform
  • Nearly ¼ million misconceptions and knowledge gaps have been addressed
  • 90% of flashcards seen have improved
As parents and carers do encourage your children to use the Sparx Platforms and go the extra mile in their learning – every little helps and the small steps taken can reap amazing rewards in the future.
