Executive Principal’s Blog – 31.3.23 ‘Getting Active, Having Fun and Being Kind’
Despite the inclement weather this week, our annual charity day for the British Heart Foundation went ahead as usual with the PE and Health Faculty adapting the typical programme on offer, but still enabling all students in the school to get involved in a whole variety of fun activities.
We are so fortunate to have Mr Cartledge as such an inspiring Head of Faculty for PE & Health who encourages so many students to understand the benefits of an active healthy lifestyle. His main school assemblies this week reinforced this aspiration.
The Head, Heart and Hands model of assessment in PE here at BMS recognises the wider benefits of getting involved in sport, enables all students to taste success and promotes a strong sense of wellbeing for all.
The fantastic day here yesterday really brought the school community together and, in doing so, raised a significant amount of money for charity.
As we come to the end of another very busy and productive term I would like to thank all staff, students and parents and carers for their support.
