Executive Principal’s Blog – 4.3.22 ’BMS Bake Off for World Book Day’

Thursday morning in the Learning Resource Centre (LRC) was the place to be as nearly 30 students from across different year groups in the school brought in some amazing cake creations inspired by books they had recently read. This made for an exciting start to World Book Day with Year 7 & 8 reading lessons with our inspirational LRC Manager Ms Turton also taking on a new dimension.

In between collecting their free £1 book vouchers or free World Book Day books and spending time quietly reading as per usual, students also enjoyed looking at all the cakes and judging them – identifying a 1^st 2^nd and 3^rd choice.

I would like to congratulate all the students for getting involved; I myself found the judging very challenging as every cake was of a really high standard and so creative and imaginative. A big thank you goes to Ms Turton for all her hard work in making our annual World Book Day at BMS such a huge success.
