Executive Principal’s Blog – 5.11.21: ‘A Successful Start!’

Our week started with an outstanding Staff Conference on Monday for all staff across the three schools in our Multi Academy Trust. We were also joined by staff from Falconer School and enjoyed a high-quality training day focussed on Closing Gaps and Building Confidence in Learning. Our talented and hard-working Associate Staff also enjoyed an interactive workshop led by a keynote speaker, looking at enhancing the business functions across our various educational institutions.

I would like to thank our Lead Practitioner for English and Whole School Literacy Ms Bowe for her excellent work in organising the whole event and for all the team of staff who worked alongside her to make the day such a success.

This week we received a letter from the Director of Public Health in Hertfordshire Jim McManus recommending that students, staff and students wear face coverings at all times inside the school buildings apart from:
  • where it would impact on the ability to take part in certain lessons (which may include PE, Music, Dance or Drama lessons)
  • when eating or drinking
  • where a person is exempt

At Bushey Meads School we have had very few reported cases of Covid-19 this term but are mindful of the recent rise across the county of Hertfordshire and would ask all parents and students to support this request and recommendation as from Monday 8th November.
