Executive Principal’s Blog – 6.11.26 “A very positive and engaging week…”
This week has been a really positive week at Bushey Meads and as always there have been many highlights – not least hearing about the success of our Key Stage 4 Cross Country Team winning the Watford District Cross Country Championships on Wednesday against some stiff competition from a number of local state and independent secondary schools. Year 10 student Zane’s overall individual 3rd position was the outstanding BMS performance of the day. A huge congratulations goes to all involved, staff and students. Our Enrichment Day on Thursday was also a great success and saw all students across every year group engaged in some superb activities. The vast majority of our Year 7s went to Woburn Safari Park for the day and some were also researching and designing a variety of animal habitats. Year 8s were fully engaged in some really exciting PE and Design and Technology activities and Year 9s were learning about the wealth of career opportunities in the Arts Industry, Year 10s were involved with an external company preparing for their futures in the work place, even taking part in mock interviews and Year 11 students were completing their important Speaking and Listening Component of their English GCSE. Year 12 students broadened their cultural capital by visiting some iconic London museums and Year 13 students were engaged with a brilliant set of workshops to prepare them for UCAS and employment applications. Days like this don’t happen without the expertise, hard work and commitment of all the amazing staff at the school and a huge thank you goes to them under the leadership of Assistant Headteacher Mrs Greenwood for providing such a range of incredible opportunities. As always do click on the link to read this week’s BMS News highlighting some of the other things that have been happening. With very best wishes for a good weekend.
