Executive Principal’s Blog – 6.12.24: ‘Recognising Outstanding Success’ This week has been a week of recognising the incredible success of students from Bushey Meads School at the highest level – nationally and across the region.
We were delighted to celebrate our CyberFirst Girls Team who recently entered a prominent national competition. The competition aimed to inspire girls interested in technology to pursue a career in cyber security and involved the team tackling challenges from cryptography and logic, to artificial intelligence and networking, for the chance to be crowned cyber security champions. On Tuesday of this week we heard that they gained second place out of the hundreds of teams who entered in the South East Region, beating off some stiff competition from other prestigious school.
Also, this week we were delighted to hear that one of our former Sixth Form students Zainah from 13 Sycamore, with support from Bushey Meads School, successfully secured a spot on the Amazon Future Engineers Bursary programme and is now studying a BSc in Computer Science with Industrial Experience at the University of Liverpool. This prestigious programme comes with £20 000 to cover tuition fees, living costs, and accommodation over the next four years!
Finally, our amazing Sixth Form student Prisha in 12 Ash (who recently swam solo across the English Channel) has been invited by Her Royal Highness the Princess of Wales, supported by The Royal Foundation, to the annual carol service in Westminster Abbey this weekend in recognition of her incredible achievements.
BMS students continue to thrive, in and beyond the school and make us all very proud. As always, do click on this link to read the rest of this week’s BMS News.
With very best wishes for a good weekend.
