| Executive Principal’s Blog – 6.9.19: BMS – A School on an Exciting Journey!
As we embark on our continued journey, with another exciting academic year ahead of us it has been a real privilege to welcome our new Year 7 students to our wonderful learning community. Their first week has gone very smoothly and they have all made a brilliant first impression; full of hope and expectation, in the right school to achieve their goals and dreams!
Our outstanding outcomes at A level and continued success at GCSE level indicate that BMS is a school that is helping GCSE and A level students continue to achieve their true potential. As our new cohort of Year 11 students start their most important academic year to date, it was great to see so many of them attending their crucial ‘Kick Start’ meetings as they prepare for the year ahead; focussing on setting really smart targets to maximise achievement in their next round of Pre-Public Examinations (PPE’s) at the end of this term and their GCSEs next summer.
At school we are really focussing on ‘Embedding Greatness’ and across all classrooms teachers are setting high expectations and continuing to embed those all-important routines that help students achieve. Assistant Headteacher Mr Varsani and one of our new teachers to the school Mrs Hemmings are pictured here doing just that. Do ask your children about our ‘Keys to Success’ displayed in every BMS classroom.
As parents and carers do continue to encourage and support your children to make a very positive start to the new academic year and ensure that all of them achieve their true potential.
