As we start our new academic year at Bushey Meads it is a hugely exciting time; our post 16 results are again superb and this year’s GCSE results are the school’s ‘Best Ever Results’, clearly demonstrating that we are adding real value to students’ education and learning at the school.
At this time of year I would particularly like to welcome our new Year 7 students who have now completed their first week at the school at the start of their exciting journey through BMS, as well as all the new learners joining our fabulous Sixth Form.
At the start of the week it was great to see all our Year 11 students attending their all-important ‘Kick Start’ meetings as they prepare for the most important year in their academic career to date; focussing on setting really smart targets to maximise achievement in their next round of Pre-Public Examinations (PPE’s) at the end of November and their GCSEs in the summer term.
Over the summer holidays there have been a number of continued major developments to our learning environment and I would particularly like to thank our Site Manager, Richard Chambers and our hard working Site Staff and IT Team who have continued to literally transform Bushey Meads School. Over the coming weeks we will update you in our weekly newsletter published every Friday with further details of all the exciting developments around the school.
In the meantime do encourage and support your children to make a very positive start to the new academic year and ensure that all of them achieve their true potential. In line with our school motto Aspire to Achieve, I know that we can all continue to work together to make this a reality for everyone.
I would like to wish all students and staff every success for 2017 – 18. Don’t forget to click on the link to read about more about this week’s BMS News……..
