Entry into Bushey Meads Sixth Form

Bushey Meads Sixth Form provides a challenging yet supportive learning environment for all students. It offers a culture of high expectations and opportunities for learners to participate in a broad range of courses in the traditional academic disciplines and in vocational studies. Students will be provided with the opportunity to develop independence and responsibility for their learning in the desire to allow all students to maximise their potential.

Sixth Form students are given the opportunity to develop their personal talent for learning and all Sixth Form students act as ambassadors for Bushey Meads School within the local community and across the wider Bushey St Jamesā€™ Trust. It is expected that all students make a positive contribution to the wider school community through our ā€˜Kindness Mattersā€™ programme.

It is assumed that when a young person chooses to enrol at Bushey Meads Sixth Form, they are doing so in order to pursue meaningful qualifications through exemplary levels of behaviour and attendance. As such we expect all students to have a positive record of appropriate and dedicated behaviour for learning in their studies at GCSE and school attendance above 96%.

Please see below option blocks for September 2022.Ā  It is possible to only select one subject from each option block.Ā  At Bushey Meads, we suggest that all Year 12 students begin on 4 subjects.Ā Ā

In addition to the 4 subjects, Year 12 students would study for an additional qualification called the Extended Project.Ā  Ā This research project supports future University and job applications and is a requirement for study at Bushey Meads School.

Each week all Year 12 students will receive an Enrichment Afternoon where a range of activities including sport, arts, alumni and alternative provision.

We look forward to receiving your online application and will be in contact in due course regarding an interview.Ā Ā
