If a student needs to take medicines during the school day, the parent or carer must inform the school and complete the permission form. The School Nurse may require a letter of support from the doctor or hospital.
In the case of long-term medication and/or medical condition, the parents or carers may be required to complete an Individual Health Care Plan.
With the exception of asthma inhalers, students may not carry medicines in school. Any medicines must be left with the School Nurse. The School Nurse will not dispense tablets for pain relief unless the consent form has been completed by a parent or carer and will not issue any pain relief before 12:30 pm.
