We recognise the importance of a healthy mind and body for our Sixth Form students. As such, we offer all of our Year 12 students weekly enrichment opportunities, as well as access to the whole school enrichment programme. By offering a range of both physical and practical activities, students can look forward to having access to outstanding provision and support from specialist staff. Below you will see a snapshot of just some of the activities on offer. The enrichment programme is overseen by the PE faculty and Ms Silla, who will regularly communicate with students and ask for their opinions on the next round of activities.
Example activities:
- Football
- Rugby
- Basketball
- Gymnastics
- Dance
- Trampolining
- Badminton
- Tennis
- Trips and Visits
- Broadening Horizons – TEDx talks
- Board Games Club
- Alumni talks from previous BMS students
- External Speakers
We are pleased to be able to offer our students an enrichment and activity programme each week during period 5 on a Friday. We strongly believe that physical activity and health plays an important role in the success of students both in Sixth Form and in their futures. As such, we offer a range of weekly activities run by the PE and Health Faculty teachers, as well as additional options. This programme is designed to allow students to select areas and activities they would like to participate in. The Sixth Form Enrichment Afternoons are compulsory for all students, however, having the ability to select from a range of activities we are confident that we will provide for all.
Each half term we will provide students with the opportunity to select an activity. Each student will be required to participate in the Broadening Horizons – TEDx Talks activity for a minimum of one-half term within the year. If a student has any questions regarding the enrichment, they can speak with a member of the Sixth Form Team or the PE and Health Faculty.
