It was a real privilege once again to welcome so many current Year 11 students and their parents and carers to our annual Sixth Form Open Evening on Tuesday of this week. This year we had even more external students from other local schools attending with their families; it is another indication of our real success at this level and strong recognition of the growing popularity of our superb school.
Whereas many local schools are limiting their course offer, at Bushey Meads Year 11 students now have even more choice of curriculum pathways at Post 16 and even more chance of success as they prepare to take their next steps beyond school to apprenticeships, the world of work and those top university places many of them are aspiring to.
As Associate Leader and Head of Sixth Form Mr O’Kelly explained to parents and carers during his presentation in the Main Hall, our results at Post 16 for adding value to students’ education place us 3rd highest out of all schools in the local area, including some schools who select their intake through examinations; a statistic to be truly proud of!
