Executive Principal’s Blog – 20.12.19: ‘Talent is cheap; dedication is expensive.’
The highlights of this week have to be the all superb Christmas Entertainment performances which have taken place over the last three days in our Main Hall. The Sixth Formers who organised the event and all the talented performers have once again done us proud and enabled all year groups in the school to enjoy this now embedded and traditional end to the BMS calendar year.
As we all come to the end of what has been a very busy autumn term, I would like to wish all students, parents, carers, Governors and Trustees a very happy Christmas and best wishes for the New Year and, as always, thank you for your continued support for the school.
Above all though I would like to pay tribute to all the hard working and dedicated staff who work at Bushey Meads. The school (which has now been officially rated as Good with Outstanding features by Ofsted) is testimony to their immense contribution to the lives of all the children in their care. It is a real privilege to work alongside them.
As Irving Stone wrote in his biographical novel about Michelangelo, talent is cheap but dedication is expensive and I know that this epitomises all the staff at BMS who really do go the extra mile without ever counting the cost; it’s inspiring.
