Executive Principal’s Blog – 10.2.23 ‘Amazing Arts Week’

It has been a really positive week in school this week and encouraging to see so many hundreds of talented students involved in one of over 18 different Performing and Visual Arts events organised as part of our first ever BMS Arts Week.

It has been great to welcome so many parents and carers and friends to the school for the various performances that have taken place and I would like to thank them for their support and encouragement for all the hard-working staff who go the extra mile to provide such wonderful opportunities for their children. One such message of gratitude is highlighted below:

Dear Mr Turner,
I would like to compliment the drama department and teaching staff on the performances this afternoon. All the children were excellent and confident. Each performance was funny, dramatic or thought provoking. Thank you for inviting the families to watch what the children have been working on. They really are a credit to the school. Best Wishes,
Year 8 Parent

This week has also been the National Apprenticeship Week 2023 and Education Minister Robert Halfon has contacted the school and provided a letter to students and parents and carers about the opportunities and benefits apprenticeships can bring to young people. As a school we do continue to encourage our students to consider apprenticeships when they are thinking about career choices for the future, as an alternative route to higher education degree-level qualifications.  If you are a parent or carer of a student in Year 11 or Sixth Form, or a student in one of these year groups do click on the relevant link below:
