Executive Principal’s Blog – 11.11.22 ’Amazing Students – an Amazing Week….’
I never cease to be inspired by the amazingly talented young people in our care at Bushey Meads School. You as parents and carers should be immensely proud of them as they continue to work hard and also continue to contribute to making Bushey Meads School such a fabulous learning community.
Sixth Form Ambassadors helping out at our annual Sixth Form Open Evening on Tuesday, Year 11 and 13 students performing at their Drama Devised Performances on Wednesday evening, the many student leaders hosting our Governors, Trustees and Members for our annual Governors Day on Thursday, the talented students who created the superb clay painted poppies on enrichment day last week, or Anton our resident oboe soloist who played an extremely poignant performance of The Last Post in the Quadrangle at 10.56 am this morning before our 2 minute silence to mark Remembrance Day, are just a few examples of students who epitomise the amazing young people we are so privileged to teach at our school.
I would like to thank our hard-working Trustees and Governors for their major input into shaping the direction of the school and for supporting leadership at all levels of the organisation, including our all-important student leadership teams, pictured here at the powerful joint Governors/Student Parliament meeting. Many of the Governors commented on the success of Governors Day and how well the school was operating on a typical, normal day. Chair of Governors Di Hoeksma sent in this message:
Please thank all your staff and students for being so welcoming to us all yesterday. As usual the students were delightful and very honest with us and we find it very helpful to talk to faculty leaders and other staff members. Governors Day is really useful to us as we can see the school in action and assure ourselves that things are going well. Several governors remarked on the infrastructure of the school; it certainly improves year on year and I know we can satisfy ourselves that the capital expenditure is well used. Thanks again for a great day.
