Executive Principal’s Blog – 15.11.24: ‘Remembrance Day across the Multi Academy Trust’

On Monday 11th November our whole school community fell silent for the traditional two-minute silence held on Remembrance Day each year to reflect and consider all those who have given their lives in past and present conflicts. It was a poignant moment to also be very thankful for the relative peace we all enjoy and work hard to maintain in our school and local communities.

The Chair of our Multi Academy Trust, Sam Russell was able to join us for the special occasion and stood with students and staff outside E and F Blocks to hear The Last Post being beautifully played by Edie in Year 7.  Other classes opened their windows to hear her trumpet playing resonating across the school site, or stood or sat quietly in their classrooms as a mark of respect.

Edie also led a moment of reflection at Little Reddings Primary School and played in the special assembly led by the Headteacher Ms Tregear. Ms Tregear commented that “She did so well and it was lovely for the pupils at Little Reddings to experience her playing.” In recognition of her major contribution Edie has received a special one-off High Achiever Award and a certificate and letter has been sent to her family.

As always do click on the link to read this week’s BMS News highlighting some of the other things that have been happening.

With very best wishes for a good weekend.
