Executive Principal’s Blog – 2.10.26: ‘A Poignant Week….’
This week our school community took some time to remember one of our dear Year 8 students whose young life was tragically taken too soon. As a school we continue to send our deepest condolences and thoughts and prayers to the family of Zach Barnes and on Wednesday of this week held a memorial event in his honour. Some beautiful plants and bulbs were placed in a carefully designed quiet area in our Outdoor Education space with benches for students to sit on and take some time to reflect and remember Zach in their own way. Events like this can be emotional, but the compassion and sensitivity that everyone showed throughout the morning was clear to see.We are hoping the quite reflection space will become a lasting tribute to Zach. A big thank you to Miss Court our Safeguarding & Mental Health Officer for arranging the event and to all the staff involved in making it so special. Zach’s memory does continue to live on in our hearts With very best wishes for a good weekend and don’t forget to click on the link to read about this week’s BMS News…….
