Executive Principal’s Blog – 23.4.21: “Passion with Purpose”
With our continued focus on improving pedagogy in classrooms across our learning community to ensure that every student achieves their potential, it was great to start the week being reminded about Rosenshine’s 10 Principles of Instruction.
Rooted in evidence based research, the 10 principles outline what makes effective teaching and learning and on Monday morning talented Head of Music Mr Gray provided us with a ‘Part 2’ summary of Principles 5 – 10.
What was encouraging is that many of us recognised the principles within our own daily practice, but it was good to be reminded of them and also of the ones that we could strengthen further.
I would like to thank all teachers and learning assistants for their ongoing passion for learning and continued professional development and for providing the very best opportunities for all our students – it makes for an inspiring ethos and culture and a great school.
