Executive Principal’s Blog – 24.9.21: ‘Deputy Mayor of Watford at BMS’

It was a real privilege to welcome the Deputy Mayor and Portfolio Holder for Community, Councillor Aga Dychton to Bushey Meads School yesterday evening for our prestigious AQA Awards Ceremony which took place in our Main Hall. As the first ever Polish councillor at Watford Borough Council and someone herself who is passionate about changing people’s lives for the better whatever their background, her enthusiasm for inclusion and achievement fitted so well with the ethos of the evening which marked the culmination of 18 months of hard work and dedication from so many staff and students linked with the Learning Support Faculty here at BMS.

Our AQA Award programme is enhancing our curriculum offer throughout KS3 and 4 and helping so many more learners taste real success. Distinguished guests, governors, parents, carers, staff and students enjoyed some superb refreshments served in the School Restaurant by our excellent Catering Team and filled the packed hall to celebrate everyone’s outstanding achievements. Our next AQA Award Evening is taking place next July and we are looking forward to it already, especially excited about how much further progress can be made.

A huge thank you goes to Mrs Dillon our outstanding SENDCo and Mr Johnson our Deputy SENDCo and their superb team who contribute so much across the whole school. At the end of another very successful week at BMS, don’t forget to click on the link to read about more about this week’s BMS News……..
