It was a privilege to welcome Carly Simmonds, the Headteacher of Little Reddings Primary School, to lead the opening session of our staff training day on Monday of this week. Her sharing of best practice set the tone for a powerful day and further developed our understanding of the learning that is taking place in our local feeder primary schools. This enables us to review and develop our schemes of learning at Key Stage 3 and ensures that students build on their prior knowledge and really excel in their all-important public examinations.
It is becoming increasingly apparent that establishing excellent links with our local primary schools is the key to future success and we are delighted that another local primary school have the same view. Just before the half term holiday Hartsbourne Primary School in Bushey Heath formally requested to join the Bushey St James Trust and are currently going through a consultation process with their key stakeholders with this in mind.
Over the past 12 months we have been working closely with Hartsbourne and have seen some real mutual benefits of our emerging collaborations. Another very good school joining the Trust will further increase opportunities for all staff and students across our Trust and, as we continue to strengthen the links and develop expertise, capacity and best practice, benefit many young people in the local area for generations to come. Exciting times!
