As a new chapter begins in the life of our country, an important chapter is coming to an end for our hard working and dedicated Year 11 students; they held their final assembly on Wednesday morning of this week and enjoyed a time of reflection and celebration of 5 happy years at Bushey Meads. Looking forward to their Prom on Monday evening, we wish them well as they eagerly wait for their GSCE Results Day on August 25th. I would like to thank all the staff involved in making their official final day so positive and for all the hard work that every member of staff has put into their final few months here at BMS.
We have a fabulous learning community and so much to celebrate in terms of high quality teaching and learning. Our Teacher Toolkit session, also held on Wednesday of this week, enabled all teachers, teaching assistants and learning supervisors to really celebrate all our hard work and achievements in the hugely important area of marking and feedback to ensure outstanding progress for learning. Some of our Lead Student Learning Consultants provided some really useful tips for teachers in terms of their perspective on what works best for them. In addition each faculty presented their exemplary ideas to encourage an even greater sharing of best practice and continued improvement across the school.
Five of our top teachers also showcased their work and the work of their colleagues across the school at two National Events which took place on Thursday – at the SSAT Annual
Achievement Show at the Emirates Stadium and at one of the Partners in Excellence (PiXL) Main Meetings taking place at Central Hall, Westminster and attended by 1500 teachers and leaders from across Great Britain.
I would like to once again thank all parents and carers for their ongoing support for our work, both in and out of school, and for encouraging all your children to make every effort to succeed. Don’t forget as usual to click on the link to read about the rest of this week’s BMS News……..
