Executive Principal’s Blog – 26.1.24 – ‘Learning from Each Other’
One of the major key benefits of our school is how we work together across, not only Bushey Meads School, but also the other two excellent schools in our Multi Academy Trust. The embedded systems for collaboration provide opportunities for enhanced professional development for staff and learning across the educational phases from Early Years all the way through to Post 16.
Leaders at every level and across all subject areas are always looking for ways to learn from each other and, through collaborative projects and cross-age activities, are enhancing the provision for students in both the primary and secondary settings.
On Wednesday of this week all teachers across the MAT gathered at Hartsbourne Primary School to reflect on our work this year to support our theme of Adapt, Assess and Achieve. Some staff were arranging to observe each other teach to further strengthen that learning transition from the primary to secondary setting.
Others were planning exciting collaborative projects facilitating students’ leadership development in languages, the performing and visual arts, humanities, sport and across our STEM subjects (including a project that will use some computer-controlled drones being gained through a recent bid to a national funding stream!)
It was a great atmosphere and reflected our genuine desire to work together for the benefit of all the children in our care across our MAT.
As always, do click on the link to read this week’s BMS News highlighting many other activities that have taken place in our wonderful school. With best wishes for a good weekend.
