Executive Principal’s Blog – 26.11.21 – ‘Recognising Greatness’

Someone once said that ‘greatness is a lot of small things done well’ and I think our wonderful school community is testimony to the truth of that saying. On Thursday of this week we held an interview day for potential candidates to join our school. From a large pool of over 20 strong applications the shortlisted candidates really enjoyed their time at our fabulous school and, in the group activity at the end of the day, spoke very highly about key aspects of Bushey Meads including the:

  • high quality teaching and learning
  • inspiring environment with amazing art work and great display in classrooms and on corridors throughout the school
  • detailed marking and feedback that is clearly moving the learning on and enabling students to make excellent progress
  • excellent behaviour for learning and conduct around the school site at break and lunchtime

Greatness is also recognised in individuals across our school community; each and every week our hardworking and dedicated Pastoral Leaders nominate students to be Student of the Week and the impact of this is always good to see. A parent of one recently nominated student sent us this email:

Thank you so much for this. It was a lovely surprise and means a lot to know that my daughter’s efforts are being recognised and appreciated. She is really happy at school and we are so grateful to all the staff at BMS for their hard work and commitment. Best regards
Year 9 Parent

It reminds us that a great school is made up of great staff and perhaps, even more importantly, great students, so do be proud of what we all achieve together. As always do click on the link to read this week’s BMS News highlighting many other activities that have taken place. With best wishes for a good weekend.
