The wisdom of years definitely hones one’s thinking about ‘Time’ which has been our Theme of the Week in school this week. What has been encouraging though has been to hear that so many students at BMS are using their relatively precious time really wisely – and applying to it a growth mindset philosophy, underpinned by our own core values of Belief, Motivation and Success.
Having the right mindset, with a good degree of passion and enthusiasm, in the right conditions of our very supportive school environment, leads to real success. In assemblies this week students reflected on this slightly americanised media clip; it certainly reminded us of the value of time:
Only two hours a day of ‘extra learning’ over 5 years at BMS can amount to a serious 4000 extra hours – something that will guarantee those Level 9 or A** grades at GCSE and pave the way for a great future in our ever improving Sixth Form and beyond. Worth thinking about!
