Executive Principal’s Blog – 29.5.20: ‘Easing Back to Some Kind of Normality….’

As we continue to move into the ‘recovery phase’ for schools after lockdown, we have now received the latest guidance from the DfE and are looking forward to welcoming our Year 12 cohort of students back to school from Monday 15th June and Year 10 students from Monday 22nd June.

Carefully planned timetables, with staggered starts to lessons have been put in place and all classrooms set up for appropriate physical distancing, with full access to hand sanitiser, wipes and reminders about regular hand washing protocols.

If there are any Year 10 or Year 12 students who are not fully up to date with their online learning they are being strongly encouraged to contact their Pastoral Manager Mrs Blowers or Head of Sixth Form Mr O’Kelly to arrange attendance at school from Monday 1st June in order to catch up with their work prior to lessons officially starting on June 15th or 22nd.

It is so important to make sure that all learning is back on track so that all students achieve their true potential this time next year. Everyday these students will be able to safely work (under supervision and physically distancing) in either the Sixth Form Study Centre or Learning Resource Centre between 9.00 am and 3.00 pm.

In the meantime I would like to thank all the Year 10 and 12 parents and carers for their positive support for our plans for the way forward.

I wish you all a very happy weekend.
