Executive Principal’s Blog – 4.7.25: ‘Realising True Potential’ Last week I paid tribute to three Year 8 students who were commended by Sergeant Will Leyshon from Wembley Park Police for playing a key role in helping a man who fell ill at Bushey Railway Station. We have subsequently found out that a Year 7 student in Willow House was also involved. Matilda was part of the amazing group of students who helped out and showed great compassion until the staff and emergency services arrived; we also want to commend her for her incredible bravery and kindness shown at such a young age. This week we have seen our school ethos truly come to life and have witnessed moments that show the impact of BMS staff helping to realise the true potential of the students in our care. Everyone that visited the GCSE and A level Art Exhibition on Thursday could visibly see the way that all the staff in that department have clearly helped each student who they have taught to realise their unique, creative potential. The incredible exhibition filled four classrooms, as well as the purpose built BSJT Gallery, and was the best ones I have ever seen across the seven different schools I have worked in over the years. It was definitely the best one ever at BMS – it was amazing and very inspiring!

I would also like to thank everyone involved in our highly prestigious Annual Rewards Evening and congratulate all the students who gained one of the many awards that celebrated, not just academic achievement, but also great character and contribution to our school community. We were also treated to some stunning dance and music performances.
We were delighted to welcome back as a Guest of Honour one of our outstanding Alumni – Leon Hirsh who left BMS in 2019 to complete a four-year sandwich degree course at Surrey University and who now manages a large team of sales people in an exciting, rapidly-growing, start-up company in the city – a real ambassador for everything that epitomises our motto Aspire to Achieve.
We continue to be immensely proud of the young people at BMS and would like to thank all the positive, supportive and hard-working parents and carers that do so much in the background to support our students to succeed and flourish at every level.
