Executive Principal’s Blog – 9.2.24 – ‘County Councillor & Executive Member Visits BMS’

It was a real privilege to welcome Councillor Caroline Clapper to our wonderful school on Thursday of this week. Caroline has served as a County Councillor for Hertfordshire County Council since June 2009 and prior to that, she was a Borough Councillor for Totteridge Ward in the London Borough of Barnet. She is now the Hertsmere Borough Councillor for Aldenham West and the Portfolio Holder for Leisure, Culture & Health at Hertsmere Borough Council.

As the Executive Member, Education, Libraries & Lifelong Learning she showed a real interest in the work of staff and students at Bushey Meads and, in particular, enjoyed her tour of our new Specialist Resource Provision ‘The Laurel’, meeting staff and students in the newly refurbished development in A Block.

Our school continues to attract a lot of interest from across the County and I would like to congratulate all our hard-working staff for building such a first-class inclusive culture and one in which all students are encouraged to Aspire to Achieve, as well developing a real Mind to Be Kind.
On a final note If you haven’t bought your tickets for next week’s school show Sweeney Todd make sure you get them this weekend via the link on the school website.

As always, do click on the link to read this week’s BMS News highlighting many other activities that have taken place in our wonderful school. With best wishes for a good weekend.
